Exploring the cross-currents of cultural influences. 

There are many things that inspire us as artists.  We are exposed to a world of vicarious learning experiences.  Our subconscious is constantly absorbing these influences, reorganizing them, and communicating them back to us with fresh ideas.  This creative process is one of the true miracles of human existence.

Exciting our imagination is the purpose of Zenabowli’s Cultural Bag.  I have been curating fascinating images, videos, cool ideas, and inspirational people for several years throughout this blog.

This blog originated in 2007 at StumbleUpon, back in the days when their platform was a blog, as well as a forum, and a social networking application.   It was a sad day for the creative community of inspiring people that spent years curating, and  sharing their sites, loaded with beautiful content.  Stumble Upon’s change was a major disappointment.  The beautiful sites went on to other platforms like Tumblr; ultimately the community was fragmented.  Thus “a stumbler in exile.”

When SU offered us the opportunity to move our blogs to WordPress, I jumped at the opportunity.  It’s only fair, to commend SU for providing the option.  Transferring the content from StumbleUpon to the new WordPress blog went smooth.  In some ways—other than the fragmenting of our community—I prefer the WordPress version of my blog.
